Another superb day as the sunshine blazed down on the Park and it looked a world away from the cold and wet at the start of the week. Jess had done her usual incredible job and both Leonidas ( Leo) and Kiltubrid Rhapsody ( Raps) looked full of beans and glowing with health at the vet check this morning.
Mark was jumping in the afternoon session so after a morning spent packing the truck up Jess got her horses ready and in the collecting ring for the afternoon session the atmosphere was simply electric. Leo warmed up well but he was maybe feeling the effects of the tacky going yesterday and he didn't jump his best round for 12 faults. He wasnt the only one though and that was still good enough to make the top 15 which just shows how tough it was!
Raps is a powerful and scopey jumper and he really has excelled himself at his first Badminton. He tried his heart out in front of the biggest crowd he has ever seen for 4 faults and eventual 6th spot. Mark was yet again one of the few to have two horses finish inside the top 15 and that is true testament to his horsemanship skills.
